As the project is really at no more than the idea stage (in fact, the only evidence of any progress is a proposed data model on the project summary page and several broken access databases!) absolutely anyone who wants to get involved is welcome.

In the week or so since I put the project on line there has been interest from around ten people with varying levels of experience, skills and ideas and all have been added to the project members list. Some of these have openly admitted that they have very little in the way of skills but the project interested them and wanted to be involved as part of their learning and as I am hoping to learn from this myself, they have also been added.

My feeling is that the more people that are involved the better the finished project would be as everyone can make any suggestions on any aspect. A lot of software remains as just one persons vision and with that it is generally set out the way that they needed it, not necessarily the way most people would need it. By having a collaborative team, there would be more ideas and that should lead to a project that a wide range of people would find useful.

It has not even been decided which platform(s) should be used so even that area is still up for discussion. Ideally, as outlined on the 'What is it?' page there would be one piece of sofware to suit all uses but if there were to be seperate web-based and desktop versions then whether the project is Java, C++, Python, VB, PHP, MySql, a standlaone MS Access database or even multiple versions, would be up to the developers
