Thank you for taking a look at this project.
The purpose behind this is to try to get a collaborative group together to develop a piece, or pieces,of software that, in my opinion, would be immensley sought after but is lacking at the moment in a suitable format for everyone.
The basic premise is to track football (soccer) matches, leagues, players and statistics to allow the smaller clubs and leagues, as well as hobbyists, historians and webmasters of fan sites to be able to track the sort of information and statistics that are currently only available to the more professional websites, clubs and leagues without having to pay a lot of money, or spend most of their spare time to be able to do it.
There are already a number of similar solutionsaround but whether they are limited in what they actually do, are too expensive for someone doing it for a love of a team or have even ceased to update or exist, there is nothing that gives all the features that anyone could want free of charge.
On top of this, quite often these programs have very little in the way of help files so sometimes someone can have the software and not get the most out of it. If this project does get into development, then detailed help files are one of the things that would be essential.
I will be perfectly honest in that I have no programming skills myself and have very limited knowledge of how SourceForge works, which is why I have created these pages. I am hoping that there will be members of the community that will be interested in helping to develop the project and there is no set way that I feel it would have to be done....it will be down to what everyone who is involved feels is best.
I am not sure what the next step is. I have added members and have now provided a lot more information on what the project is about but do not know how to mail every member with the information (a lot of the emails I have sent via google to members have bounced back) so I am hoping someone can even advise me on how the get the project moving!!
